Beach Cities Robotics

Two rival schools, one extreme team! We are committed to a fun, healthy learning experience that brings students of all grades and abilities together with one interest: STEM. We embrace learning valuable life skills to carry into our future careers and beyond. We strive to inspire young minds in our community. We actively pursue any opportunity to enrich our local community. By designing, problem solving, and working together, we work as a team to complete projects and learn skills essential to our futures in science and technology.

Beach Cities Robotics (BCR), also known as Team 294, is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team that designs, builds, and programs a competitive robot in six weeks. Each year, we compete in two regional competitions each year with the goal of qualifying for the FIRST Championship competition held in April. Our team participants work in sub-teams to build a robot with the help of experienced mentors who work in the industry at companies such as Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Boeing, and Impresa Aerospace.

When we are not in competition season (which runs January-April), we work on projects to learn skills in engineering, science, technology, and business. This includes programming, machining, Computer Aided Design (CAD), prototyping, marketing, and outreach. By completing this business plan, we intend to reflect on our growth, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to improve Team 294 and promote the FIRST community.
